The Story – Chapter 148

September 7, 2015

I hit the ground hard. Charlie was complaining somewhere behind me so it seemed he had travelled too. I hoped breaking the globe had broken the spell keeping us wherever we were and had returned Herman as well… before he was eaten by the monster he was fighting.

I sat up. My knees were aching where I’d hit the ground, the skin on my palms were scraped and bleeding. Ouch, damnit! I looked up. Another clearing. In the distance were trees, lots of trees. Puffy clouds filled the blue sky above my head and it was warm. I could feel it on my face, the breeze was light but constant.

Dragging myself to my feet I turned a circle. No Herman to be seen. Charlie lay on the grass. I could see the blades poking through his ghostly skin. “So where we at now?” he asked.

I shrugged. It was a good question. Where were we now?

TBC…

  1. I really wish I could paint – because I would love to create all your characters! Your imagination is so creative! I’m still trying to find stock photos, but they don’t have a lot of Sci-fi stuff out there. I’m looking for some photos for some of your other books.

    • Don’t stress about it! 😃 I just appreciate that you tried! All good… I’d rather you enjoyed reading… Mind u… If you find anything let me know!
