I will remember (Friday Fictioneers)

February 16, 2017

broken-face-liz-1

Have you ever pictured yourself the night after? Lying in a ditch, face aching after a bar fight and dreading the rising sun?

How could I feel anything, let alone image it? I hear you ask.

I would snort if I could. Synthetic skin should not feel pain, it should not feel anything. The algorithms are just a series of ones and zeros, right?

What if I told you I feel everything?

…

And I still do.

My head survived. I am still functional. My visual receptors recorded every second of the attack. I have his face.

I will remember.

This is a Friday Fictioneers Prompt

I’m not the only one this image disturbs this week am I? I see nightmare’s in my future tonight.Β

  1. Thought provoking, a super response.

  2. It is a disturbing image, even more so if a face like that is coming for revenge!

    • Thank you Iain. Yes that image will give me nightmares 😊 so i thought revenge would be the cure!

  3. Yay. Androids!

  4. That was a great response. There’s a wealth of writing material in the supposition that inanimate objects can actually feel emotion and pain. Well done!

  5. Dear Laurie,

I would hate to see that head coming after me. Androids have feelings, too. Love it. This has the makings of a larger piece. Nicely done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

    • Thank you Rochelle. Yes there is a little horror movie here i think. Great picture choice this week. Very inspiring

  6. Ha, I didn’t see that end coming. Well done.

  7. That line – I have his face – that will haunt me for some time.

    • Gosh, thank you Elizabeth… i admit its a great but truly creepy image. I hope my story doesn’t keep you up tonight 😊

  8. Oh Laurie! I have to agree with Liz… that line “I have his face”… scary!

  9. No, you’re not the only one. But you got a good scary scene from it. Remember all your favorite things and have sweet dreams. πŸ˜‰

    • Thank you Christine. I actually slept well! Maybe my writer’s brain is a little too disturbed!

  10. Excellent, Laurie.

  11. Ah.. and then detectives come and download every witness statements… gotcha

  12. Good take, he’l never know what’s coming for him.

  13. Never underestimate a vengeful android. I love it. πŸ™‚

  14. Ooh, that’s chilling. You’ve got me wanting to read the sequel πŸ™‚
