Cause and effect (Friday Fictioneers)
PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll
The sound had shaken the walls. Impact shattering… everything. Glass, cement sheets, steel frames and tiles. It all came apart with a rumble and a roar.
Then fire.
When the debris settled silence fell like a curtain.
A scream sounded from beneath the rumble.
Crying too.
The machine that caused the damage stuck out from the top of the pile. A ship of some sort. Not a plane that was for sure. Government goons in their dark suits and cropped hair appeared almost immediately. They admitted to a satellite.
I know that wasn’t true. I saw the arm. Green blood.
This is a Friday Fictioneers Prompt

The truth is out there. Nicely done, Laurie
Thank you Neil 😊
Move along, nothing to see here, just your typical satellite falling out the sky… 🙂
Yes exactly…. or was it? 😉
I think the narrator might be in for some difficult times.
Hmmmmm well put Sandra and I dont think they’ll stay quiet
Ooh! Chilling final line!

Thank you Susan! 😊
Dear Laurie,
No doubt she’s bound to be locked up if she shares what she saw. But when the truth comes out it will be a “Holy Shit” moment to behold. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Oh yes indeed. And the truth is out there! 👽
Oh, that’s what screamed. One government conspiracy coming right up.
Yes indeed James. Those Suits will try and lock it down tho
Yes, the Men in Black have a lie prepared. The can explain away anything you saw too.
Martian? Or secret weapon?
Both? 😁
Ah, a little sci-fi to brighten the landscape 🙂 Nicely done.
Thank you !!
It was an optical illusion, caused by the firefighters’ arc lights. Remember the gold/white – or blue/black dress?
Or was it just careless parking by an alien spaceship?
Entertaining take on the prompt, Ms Scully, sorry, Laurie!
Hahaha I prefer Murder 😉 thanks Penny
There was probably a lizard’s tongue licking his nose as well..
Yes, yes, I agree, move along… nothing to see here!
Absolutely! 😉
Green blood. That’s a sure give away of something far more interesting going on, that they don’t want us to know about. 🙂
Hmmmm indeed! 😉
Ooh. aliens. I’m fairly sure the men in dark suits will get to the witness soon. Maybe they’ll put the person in a witness protection program. I don’t even want to know how that’s handled. Good writing, Laurie. 🙂 — Suzanne
