Uninvited guest (Friday Fictioneers)

“Hey guys, come in.”
“Hey dad. Where’s mum?”
Uncontrolled Laughter greeted that statement. “What did you do?”
“This time it wasn’t me. Come and have a look at this.”
Dutifully we followed dad out to the laundry. “I see the problem.”
Bouncing from foot to foot, mum was contorting to get as close to the sink as possible. In front of her, and between her and the door was a giant web dangling as if it had fallen. Wisps hung off the door frame. In the middle sat a giant grey shape. “Oh, hi guys. John, will you DO SOMETHING!”

Poor Mum
Thanks Neil!! 😊
There is always one in a relationship who has the role of dealing with spiders! 🙂
Oh yes… hahaha terrible the fears we have. I mean it is just sitting there minding its own business
This could have been me. Nicely done.
Oh dear… you too? For me it depends on the size. In Aus the smaller black ones with color on their back scare the begeezas out of me. Redback or white tail. Blah
How unkind! Teehee! Mum! -Get a grip!
I know poor thing! 😉
Little shits. 😬
Oh yeah Tracey! Poor mum
Great fun – really made me smile! (I’m sure they rescued Mum eventually.)

Yup and boy did she make them pay! 😁
Ha ha ha. Been there.
Hopefully, John’s not afraid of spiders too or they’ve got a real problem! Nice one.

Oh gosh, I hope not! hahaha. Thanks for reading Keith
Dear Laurie,
I sympathize with Mum. I’ve been known to give my room over to large spiders. Cringing at the thought. Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Oh they can be icky
Ha ha ha ha, this was so realistic, and so much fun.
Dad is having too much fun at mum’s expense. I wonder how he’d feel if roles, and feelings of arachnophobia, were reversed 🙂 Great imagery.
Lol that is the joke… in real life it is my dad who is afraid of spiders! 🤪
Spiders are right up there with gecko lizards in my fear portfolio.
Someone save MUM …. funny story.
Isadora 😎
Ha ha thanks Isadora! 😉
I have a feeling that John and mum get along beautifully. Fun story Laurie.
Ha… spiders can have an interesting effect on some…
So very true… first response is the real one. 😉
What a mean dad! To leave her like that and then laugh at her…
Hahahaha well I hope they will save her soon!
Oh, poor Mum. I hope she give Dad a clout upside the head when she’s free!
Oh you bet she will!
Oh, how mean! But so well written.
Thank you 😁
