A curious thing (Friday Fictioneers)
PHOTO PROMPT © Sandra Crook
I passed it every day. Never once did I think to ask how it got this way, melting into the earth. Brittle concrete exposed steel beams and struts desperately trying to hold it all together and failing with the passage of time. Rain, snow, wind in cycles, then radiating heat that stretching into every crack forcing them wider.
It was the cascading fall of pebbles that first got my attention. I crept inside, eyeing the unstable walls with concern. A long hand with even longer fingers beckoned me forward. Grey skin and giant eyes drew me closer.
“Come with me.”

Indeed… it can get you into trouble, thanks for reading
How mysterious! The monster sounds like Gollum in the Lord of the Rings films.
Yes he does a bit… would you follow?
Nope!
Yeeeek. Turn around quick. (I know you won’t listen) Good one, Laurie.
Watch out! Hahaha you know how I am about turning around John… haha 😉
Ha ha ha.
Dear Laurie,
Sounds like alien abduction alert. Beware! Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Oh yes Rochelle! But he might be a friendly one. Thanks for reading.
Nooooo…. stay away from the grey finger!!
Hahaha oh yes I know Dale 😁
This is the kind of story that demands a sequel.
Thankyou for saying that Larry 😊
I think that the grey skin is just from lack of company… a sweet little monster who will share his wealth… just go ahead.
Ahhhhhh thank you Bjorn… maybe it just wants a friend?
