Holiday (Friday Fictioneers)

March 21, 2019

I wondered if it was the colors or the drugs? It was possibly both. Everything swirled and juked, danced in a spirally wave that was certainly not natural. Unless it was?

Holidays on Earth were trippy. It was my second visit, but there was so much to see You couldn’t capture it all on one trip. I dangled the semi-conscious human from my arm. “Do I get another prize?”

The carnie stared wide eyed. Perhaps he didn’t understand. I shook the body. “Another prize? Maybe an old human this time?”

He pointed.

“Oh, yes. Excellent.” I loped toward the screaming.

  1. I always thought that giving goldfish as a prize at the funfair was cruel. After a few days they would be neglected and die. the same must go for humnas as prizes, unless they eat them – then that’s okay.

  2. I loved the idea. Especially that you can’t see all of earth in one trip. A slightly vapid alien if he’s spending his trip at a carnival instead of Ankor Wat

  3. Excellent premise.. Who knows, we have trophy wives, why not carnival prizes….

  4. Here’s yet another interplanetary story. You never know when a U.F.O. may show up.

  5. Ooh, now that was scary! Well done!

  6. Great stuff, a floppy human being dragged around a funfair is a brilliant image.

  7. Dear Laurie,

Perhaps I shouldn’t, but I laughed at the floppy human as a prize at an amusement park. Very clever.

  8. More aliens, only this one doesn’t seem too smart. Either that or he’s tripping on the drug to the point of no brain.

Eeh, I go run and hide now, I’m an old human. On the other hand, being in close proximity with a space alien, even one that intoxicated, would be a good way to go for a scifi fan. Maybe he’d take me on his spacecraft… or through a portal… or flush me out an airlock. Great idea, I love it.

  10. Now I can’t shake the goldfish as prize image….
    Well done, Laurie!

  11. That was the scariest one so far! Good thriller.

Ah! a tourist from another planet! We are moving fast.

  13. Holiday’s seems to be a bit the same for aliens and humans (we are just not used to be both entertainment and food)
