Review: Wundersmith (The calling of Morrigan Crow) by Jessica Townsend

September 17, 2019

About the Book:

Morrigan Crow and her best friend Hawthorne Swift are now proud scholars in the elite Wundrous Society, but life is far from perfect. Does Morrigan have what it takes to prove that she belongs in the Society?

My thoughts:

This series just continues to delight. Mog’s life just keeps getting stranger and better but it’s still a mystery to her classmates and she will need to do everything she can to keep it a secret… Including trusting the rest of her new “family” – but someone wants her secret exposed and it will take all of her trust, love and power to save her and those she cares about the most.

More twists and turns, fun and unexpected directions (dangerous one way streets, undercover fairs, secret powers and painfully annoying schoolwork. This series is simply a joy to read. I cannot wait for the next one. If you have junior readers (including yourself) you need to get on this Aussie author and onto this series immediately. (Before the movies are made because the books are just a wunder to read!)

I love Mog. I love her friends and her adoptive family. I love the world building – OMG author Jessica Townsend has created a unique and incredible world for Mog and her friends to inhabit. And I love the drama. Poor Mog. Read it now.
