What if… (Friday Fictioneers)

October 17, 2019
PHOTO PROMPT © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

It is said angels walk among us.

What I don’t think they realize is that it’s not just angels. It’s demons too. And monsters and aliens and all sorts of critters that go bump in the night.

Haven’t you ever seen something odd? Heard of a miraculous escape or a criminal getting his comeuppance? What about music, design and technology? Something just a little bit unnatural, wouldn’t you say?

Of course, they would not announce their presence. Only in the death they leave behind. For what is a soul if not something mysterious?

Watch the shadows…

They’re coming for you.

  1. A creepy piece, Laurie, especially with that final warning

  2. Thanks for the warning – I’m away to find a safe hiding place and never come out again! 😉 Good chilling writing.

  3. A clear warning. What do they want,? To collect our souls, the good the bad and the ugly,

  4. That explains a lot. Thanks for putting some very disturbing thoughts in my mind!

    Here’s my story!.

  5. Enjoyed it, Laurie

  6. Think of all the untold stories we could run into.

  7. Dear Laurie,

This would explain a lot. Ominous ending. Well done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  8. I would never assume it was just angels that walked among us. There is proof that there is so much more!
    Well done!

It is creepy to think that many invisible things are walking with us and are always around us. We do not see them does not mean they don’t exist.

  10. Oh, I’m scared (not!). Great story this week!

  11. I saw those as souls walking among us too… and maybe the sense that they walk among us is enough to make us scared.

    • And maybe we should be scared. It was the first thought I had. What is waiting for us I wonder? Thanks so much for reading

  12. Yikes. It’s a good thing I don’t scare easily 🙂

  13. They are as real as you believe they are.
