I’ll find you (Friday Fictioneers)

Casting a professional eye over the items left behind on the kitchen sink didn’t give any indication where the perp had gone, so he dismissed it. “Focus on the living area.”
“Sir.”
He followed the first responder back into the blood drenched room. “Ideas, people?”
No one answered. Either they weren’t game to make a suggestion or had none to offer. This was the third body to drop in as many days. The lipstick taunt on the mirror drew his gaze.
Find me, Detective.
His forked tongue flicked out, scenting the room. A hint of aftershave. The hunt was on.
This is a Friday Fictioneers Prompt

Aha. I deduce the killer is a woman. She wears aftershave at the crime scenes to throw the detectives off the scent (sorry)
Oooooo Aha! I like it.
A sci-fi noir, I like it 🙂
Aha! Indeed me too
I like Neil’s idea… An interesting scenario…
Indeed… Thanks Dale
The ending makes a leap into another world, I wondered on what planet they flick their forked tongues. But then again the cat and mouse chase for serial killers goes on. Perhaps it is the new normal for the future – a reality hunt for a serial murderer.
Oh indeed, thanks James. It was Halloween and I enjoyed playing with a bit but otherworldlyness
‘Find me’, a game of cat and mouse. Excellent.
Here’s my story!
Thanks Keith
Dear Laurie,
The slithering tongue certainly put a different spin on things. Intriguing whodunnit combined with sci fi. Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you, Rochelle. I think for a detective it would add to his arsenal of tricks to catch the killer
Eek. A talking snakey detective. That’s terrifying!
Unless he’s good at his job? Might be a good thing.
How can anything snakey possibly be good! As you can see, I’m not rational about snakes. Completely hate and fear them all, even the ones I KNOW are harmless and even helpful. Gah!!
Haha fair enough 🐍
I like the trans-species aspect to the mystery.
Thank you! I like a touch of fantasy in my stories when I can
You are welcome.
Well it has to be a girl with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
I might be missing something here, I’m not sure what you mean
I enjoyed the seque into the fantasy realm! =)
