The palace in the background was awe inspiring. And probably cost a mint. It wasn’t the real attraction. Not for her. The fountain within sight of the palace… ah, now that was the real prize. The water wasn’t real of course. Merely an illusion. Commoners couldn’t get close enough to find that out. Well, other than her. She’d got through the fencing. Small enough, skinny enough (that’s no food for ya). She stepped into the fountain and approached the centerpiece, home to the fairy queen.

“I seek an audience.”

“Granted. Step in… if you dare.”

She dared. And never returned.
