Raise the mainsail, ready the canons (Friday Fictioneers)

The view was endless. Timeless. Floating here, over the planet, watching the humans scurry around like the sorts of creatures one might stomp beneath one’s hoof-boots. My ship is one of the new style. Silent as the wind and slow, drifting apparently aimlessly across the sky. Only moments before we’d been drifting through the stars, using the solar winds to direct our path. But now, here we are, on a planet of monsters hellbent on destroying the greenery of their world. Greenery me and my brethren can graze on forever.

“Fire the engines, prepare the weapons. We attack at sunset.”

  1. Attack cows? Now that’s a new one, Laurie

  2. If I have to go to war, I want to do it in a hot air balloon 🙂

  3. A planet of monsters. Yeah, that about nails it.

  4. Dear Lauri,

About now I’d have to agree about the planet of monsters. Well done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  5. Not long till sunset. I hope this is fiction!

    Here’s mine!

  6. Ah, the vegans have decided to invade Earth and wipe put all the meat eating vermin. No doubt they will arrive like locust and devour the vegetation, as they did on Mars, then move on to their next planet.
(as if the decimation of the dinosaurs was not enough for them). Good luck to these invaders – I am ready.

  7. Our planet is rather monstrous, isn’t it? Or rather, its inhabitants are…

  8. The hoof-boots are awesome. I imagine them clearing out the vermin and afterwards peacefully graze into the sunset.
