The hunter walks the night (Friday Fictioneers)

September 3, 2020

Ya see, my job is to stay in the shadows. I hunt the monsters people fear. The monsters fear me.

The woman who banged on my door in the early hours was clearly terrified. She’d been stalked down this street, chased through the dark. Heard a slavering hungry moan and knew her life was at stake. Well, the dame had legs up to here and eyes that whispered to my soul. I couldn’t say no.

In the shadows something pants, paws plod forward. It howls. The hairs on my neck stand on end.

I unsheathe my knife. “Here kitty, kitty.”

  11. Hoo boy, a good creepy horror story! I’m sure the hunter got his kitty–and probably the lady, too 🙂

  12. Oh… a kitty can come in many sizes… this one seems to be on the larger side.
