PHOTO PROMPT © Rowena Curtin

“Tel, I’m sick of you dragging us into magic doorways. I’ve been to Ice worlds, underground cities, tree palaces. We were even underwater that one time! I’m exhausted.”

“Jina, it’s our destiny.”

“Destiny shmestiny. I’m over it. The uncertainty, the danger, the romance—”

“How can you be over romance?”

“Because we never stay. I’ve fallen in love so many times with princess’s, and dragons, and farm boys. I can’t do it anymore.”

“Tel. We can’t say no. People need us.”

“They can save themselves. I’m taking a holiday.”

“Just one look in the bin. Please?”

“Argh, Alright. Just one.”

  1. I understand Jina’s frustrations, it seems people take advantage of her powers. Besides, all farm boys talk about is tractors – How many variations of a Massey Ferguson can there be?

  2. A superhero with a mood swing! What fun!

  3. Everyone needs a bit of rest and relaxation! 🙂

  7. I quite understand Tel’s point of view: falling in love so many times must be exhausting! 😂 Fun story, Laurie!

    • Right? hahaha… and time consuming too. Then the emotional turmoil of leaving them behind. Time for a break. thanks for reading

  8. Interesting story, Well done.

  9. Dear Laurie,

Garsh, I never thought of fairy tale heroes getting burnout. (I suppose with those dragons… 😉 ) Cute story.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  10. We can’t always meet expectations.
Nicely done … Be well … Be Safe
    Isadora 😎

    • Indeed you are right. Best to just go out there and try to do the right thing. And not lose your heart over and over again in the process!

  11. She should have told him ‘tomorrow’ – and then split!

  12. Ha ha – loved the dialogue – and the concept. Nicely done, Laurie!

  13. Just another glimpse into the portal… maybe it will be uniquely awesome this timr

  14. Hilarious. I have a feeling this won’t be the last time!

  15. These two need each other! Think how boring things would be if they went their separate ways. One would never do anything and the other wouldn’t have anyone to share the excitement with.

  16. Ha ha something tells me the same conversation repeats each and every time now … 😉
