We gathered around the cut stump. I brushed my fingers over the smooth surface. Though violence had brought her down we used her remains as our war room. I stared across at my fellow warriors. Jel, with her green translucent wings, shiny armor and glowing blade held my gaze transfixed. She hovered above us. “Now is when we must fight. We cannot allow them their transgressions. They are unprepared for us. Let us have our vengeance.”

I breathed out a sigh, flared my wings and raised my blade. I would follow her to the end of the Earth.

To vengeance!
