What really happened (Friday Fictioneers)

A balloon? Really? After saving the galaxy and getting shot in the process my boss gets me a balloon? I’d laugh if I could manage it. Cry too. Instead, I’m lying here watching the news feeds on my holoscreen. So much celebrating! I wonder what they would think if they knew how close we’d come to total annihilation. If that galactic size spaceship full of dark matter explosives had hit that solar giant, well, there wouldn’t be anyone left to party. Probably. Maybe. I pull hard on the lid of my sealed water cup. It sprays all over me.
Typical.

A legend in his own lunchtime
Absolutely !
It’s the little things that annoy us the most 🙂
Oh yes, so very true!
Well planned, Laurie. Indeed, the is no annihilation like total annihilation. 🙂
Well if you’re gonna do it, go big or go home
I so agree with that. 🙂
Be thankful the boss acknowledged at all. That may be a reflection on the week I’m having at work 🙂
Oh I hope your week got a little better or at least that you have has a good weekend!
So true about the boss thing though
The week got better in that it ended! One more week with this client to go!
Dear Laurie,
At least the boss acknowledged her success. Although a balloon does seem a pitiful token for saving the galaxy.
Shalom,
Rochelle
True indeed… you would think at least a card, right? Haha
Getting soaked was adding insult to injury! Nice one, Laurie.
Always the way, am I right?
Even our superheroes have to contend with unappreciative bosses and the small irritations of life. Who would have guessed?
Oh yes, always. The greedy boos, the annoying assistant. That guy that chews really loudly in the office
What a great scene. Heroes seldom get rewarded properly. I bet the boss takes all the credit. Or people start claiming that nothing would have happened anyway.
Oh yes, I’ll bet the boss will take the credit!
Spot on.
I got a chuckle out of the first part and gave a knowing nod in the second part. You had a lot of fun writing this one, I can tell.
Hahaha I did! Thank you
You’re welcome.
A bonus would have been nicer.
This was a fun read.
, Isadora 😎
Thank you!!
