“Is that a tunnel beneath the table?”

“Sure not. It’s probably just decoration or a part of the charm of the restaurant.”

“Well, I reckon it is a tunnel, maybe a prohibition tunnel for smuggling bootlegged whiskey.”

“No whiskey for you.”

“Aw.”

“Do they look happy out there?”

“Yes sir. Eating well and completely distracted.”

“Excellent. Lock the doors, raise the gates and let the giant killer worms through for their feed.”

“Do we have to? It’s such a pain to replace the glass every day.”

“You want to be their food instead?”

“Ah, no sir.”

“Get on with it.”

  1. Dear Laurie,

Ooh. A grisly end to that dinner. Unless of course, you’re a flesh eating worm. Guess who’s coming to dinner?

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  2. The animals in the house must be fed, broken glass or not, I totally agree. I wonder what they do with the giant killer worms though, keep them as pets? Great fun!

  3. Farming giant killer worms is clearly not for the faint-hearted!

  4. Like Dune, but more civilised 😀

  5. No whiskey for you. Fun one, Laurie.

  6. My goodness, can’t he get normal pets. What if these creatures escape into the wider world, there will be trouble ahead. Loved the horror element.

  7. No whiskey… coz they don’t want the worms getting inebriated while they eat!!

The dragons on Saturn wonder how these worms taste.

  9. Creative use of the mystery photo. Hoping they are free of the reign of the worm someday.

  10. Ohhhh flesh-eating worms…what a great idea! They should get a complimentary whisky before the ‘floor show’. A bottomless glass of it. Great story!
