Rain.

Endless rain.

The little face stared through the hovercar windows. “I want to play,” she begged.

“Not wet enough, my love. Besides, it’s too primitive. You’ll be bored in moments.”

“Will not,” she said.

“Earth equipment is built for two hands. You, my dear, have six tentacles.”

“I know,” she sits back in her swimseat and pouts, turning her head. “Still wanna play.”

“We are on the way to the welcoming dinner. You can play after we eat.”

She giggled. “Do they know what we eat, parent? I like them pink and squishy and raw.”

“They will find out.”

  2. When a new species is disturbed from its natural habit, why are we surprised when they find pink and squishy their favourite?

  5. Yoiks! This made me cringe and laugh at the same time. Well done.

  12. Dear Laurie,

“To Serve Man.” It’s a cookbook! I couldn’t help but go there. Now I’ll get my pink squishy butt outta here. 😉

    Rochelle
