Sleight of hand (Friday Fictioneers)

March 23, 2023

PHOTO PROMPT © Liz Young

She stared at the cards. All marked. Now she had to slip them into the decks on the Gambler’s Run, the casino spaceship cruise heading out this evening for Helfet Four. That would take some work. But she was prepared. She’d done it before. Straightening her tight waitress uniform, she adjusted herself and pouted into the mirror. Emerald tresses hung artfully around her smokey violet eyes. She slid the cards into her apron pouch, phoofed her hair once more and headed out.

Cards planted she changed disguises and slipped back inside.

A hand gripped her wrist, yanking her aside. “Gotcha.”
